ARMAGEDDON—JESUS CHRIST RETURNS Part-1

1-Armageddon (Commentary)

    In heaven, there is silence for about the space of half an hour. The great and terrible day of the Lord is at hand. The sign of Jesus appears in the sky over all the earth. All the tribes of the earth mourn.
    As the heavens open, Jesus Christ comes forth on a white horse. The saints are with Him, also riding upon white horses. He comes forth as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. As He comes forth, His eyes are as a flame of fire. There are many crowns upon His head. His name is called "The Word of God."
    Out of His mouth goes the Word. He speaks, and things happen. He comes forth in the clouds with great power and glory. He comes with fire and with chariots like a whirlwind.
    As He comes forth, lightnings enlighten the world. One can only imagine the scene: lightnings light up the skies all over the world, coupled with the terrifying sounds of thunder; people will tremble as a result!
    As Jesus returns, every eye will see Him, even those that pierced Him. His feet shall touch down upon the Mount of Olives. God’s Word asks this question, "Who may abide the day of His coming? Who shall stand?" They shall look upon Jesus, Whom they have pierced. There shall be great mourning.
    All the tribes of the earth cry. The mystery of God should be finished or accomplished. God’s plan is being brought to completion. The wrath of God has come. The temple of God is opened in heaven. The ark of His testament or covenant is seen. There are lightnings, voices, thunderings, and an earthquake. Great hail falls. The kings of the earth and their armies are gathered together to battle against the return of Jesus. They are gathered to a place called "Armageddon." The land is full of silver, gold, and idols.
    They will make war against Jesus as He returns. A voice out of the temple in heaven, from the throne, proclaims, "IT IS DONE."
    The day of the Lord is darkness. Israel shall be judged at His coming. The heathen shall be judged at Armageddon.

2-SOME PROPHECIES THAT JESUS SHALL RETURN

    Acts 1:11-WHICH ALSO SAID, YE MEN OF GALILEE, WHY STAND YE GAZING UP INTO HEAVEN? THIS SAME JESUS, WHICH IS TAKEN UP FROM YOU INTO HEAVEN, SHALL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER AS YE HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN.

3-YE SHALL NOT SEE ME UNTIL YE SHALL SAY

    Lk 13:35-AND VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, YE SHALL NOT SEE ME, UNTIL THE TIME COME WHEN YE SHALL SAY, BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
    Jesus said, in Mt 23:39-FOR I SAY UNTO YOU, YE SHALL NOT SEE ME HENCEFORTH, TILL YE SHALL SAY, BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.

4-THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN APPEARS ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH MOURN

    A sign appears in the sky, all over the earth, signifying that Jesus is about to return; as a result, tribes, all over the earth, cry.
    Mt 24:30-AND THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN IN HEAVEN (or in the sky): AND THEN SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH MOURN.

5, 6-JESUS CHRIST RETURNS
HEAVEN OPENS: JESUS CHRIST RETURNS

    Rev 19:11-AND I SAW HEAVEN OPENED, AND BEHOLD (there before me) A WHITE HORSE. The heaven opens, and Jesus comes forth, in His glorious majesty, upon a white horse. The white horse denotes victory and triumph. It can also denote purity. Jesus originally entered Jerusalem, before His death, on a donkey. Here is the second coming of Jesus, which so many in this generation scoff at, saying, WHERE IS THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING?-2 Pe 3:4. Yet it was announced, when Jesus was taken up into heaven, THIS SAME JESUS...SHALL SO COME-Acts 1:11.
    (Do not confuse this with Rev 6:2, the counterfeit Christ, which comes forth on a white horse, conquering and to conquer.)
    AND HE THAT SAT UPON HIM WAS CALLED FAITHFUL AND TRUE. Jesus sits upon a white horse and is called Faithful and True.
    AND IN RIGHTEOUSNESS (or with justice) HE DOTH JUDGE AND MAKE WAR (or goes to battle). In righteousness Jesus does judge. In righteousness Jesus makes war or goes to battle-ref Isa 42:14. The Lord tells us, I HAVE LONG TIME HOLDEN (or kept) MY PEACE; I HAVE BEEN STILL, AND REFRAINED (or held) MYSELF (back): NOW WILL I CRY LIKE A TRAVAILING WOMAN (or woman in childbirth); I WILL DESTROY AND DEVOUR AT ONCE-Isa 42:14. We are reminded that it is written, KNOWING THEREFORE THE TERROR OF THE LORD, WE PERSUADE MEN-2 Cor 5:11. Rev 19:12-HIS EYES WERE AS A FLAME OF FIRE (or blazing fire). This gives us a picture of Jesus coming to judge a world that has rejected His great mercy.
    AND ON HIS HEAD WERE MANY (royal) CROWNS. One might wonder how Jesus could have many crowns upon His head. Perhaps, they are placed one on top of another. The number of crowns is not given in this verse.
    AND HE (Jesus) HAD A NAME WRITTEN (on Him), THAT NO MAN KNEW, BUT HE HIMSELF.
    Rev 19:13-AND HE WAS CLOTHED (or dressed) WITH A VESTURE (or robe) DIPPED (or soaked) IN BLOOD. Again, we see a picture of Jesus at Armageddon. It is written, I HAVE TRODDEN THE WINEPRESS ALONE; AND OF THE PEOPLE THERE WAS NONE WITH ME: FOR I WILL TREAD THEM IN MINE ANGER, AND TRAMPLE THEM IN MY FURY; AND THEIR BLOOD SHALL BE SPRINKLED UPON MY GARMENTS, AND I WILL STAIN ALL MY RAIMENT-Isa 63:3. We are reminded of Isa 34:6, THE SWORD OF THE LORD IS FILLED WITH BLOOD. Also, Rev 14:20-AND THE WINEPRESS WAS TRODDEN WITHOUT THE CITY, AND BLOOD CAME OUT OF THE WINEPRESS, EVEN UNTO THE HORSE BRIDLES, BY THE SPACE OF A THOUSAND AND SIX HUNDRED FURLONGS.
    Rev 19:13 continues, AND HIS NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD. Jesus is called "The Word of God." Jn 1:1 tells us, IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD.
    Rev 19:14-AND THE ARMIES. Note the word "armies" is plural, as in more than one army. These are the saints WHICH WERE IN HEAVEN. This includes the saints from the past, from the Rapture, as well as those that are martyred during the Tribulation. These FOLLOWED HIM. The saints are riding behind or following Jesus UPON (or riding on) WHITE HORSES. In other verses, the word "horses" has often denoted some form of vehicle. Nevertheless, most believe that the word "horses," used here, means an actual horse and that the saints will ride upon them when returning with Jesus.
    They are CLOTHED (or dressed) IN FINE LINEN, WHITE AND CLEAN (or pure). "Fine linen" represents the clothing of nobility, such as kings and rulers. "White" can represent purity. "Clean" could represent the washing of water by the Word and that it was without spot or wrinkle. The Bible describes His glorious church, which is holy and without blemish-ref Eph 5:27.
    Rev 19:15-AND OUT OF HIS MOUTH GOETH A SHARP SWORD. Rev 19:13 just told of Jesus, that His name is called THE WORD OF GOD. We read in Eph 6:17-THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD. Thus, the sharp sword that comes out of the mouth of Jesus is the Word of God. Regarding the sharp sword, it is written, Rev 1:16-AND OUT OF HIS MOUTH WENT A SHARP TWOEDGED SWORD. Rev 2:16 says, REPENT; OR ELSE I WILL COME UNTO THEE QUICKLY, AND WILL FIGHT AGAINST THEM WITH THE SWORD OF MY MOUTH. Rev 19:21-AND THE REMNANT WERE SLAIN WITH THE SWORD OF HIM THAT SAT UPON THE HORSE, WHICH SWORD PROCEEDED OUT OF HIS MOUTH.
    Rev 19:15 continues, THAT WITH IT (with the sword, which is the Word of God) HE (Jesus) SHOULD SMITE (or strike down) THE NATIONS. This refers to Isa 11:4-AND HE SHALL SMITE THE EARTH WITH THE ROD OF HIS MOUTH, AND WITH THE BREATH OF HIS LIPS SHALL HE SLAY THE WICKED. THOU SHALT BREAK THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON; THOU SHALT DASH THEM IN PIECES LIKE A POTTER’S VESSEL-Ps 2:9. These statements seem to be synonymous: "the rod of His mouth" and "the rod of iron."
    This continues to refer to the second coming of Jesus, which is during the time of Armageddon.
    Rev 19:16-AND HE (Jesus) HATH ON HIS (1) VESTURE (or robe) (2) AND ON HIS THIGH A NAME WRITTEN, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Jesus is Deity. Jesus is God. Jesus is the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. He is about to return. In Rev 17:14, it is written, HE IS LORD OF LORDS, AND KING OF KINGS: AND THEY THAT ARE WITH HIM ARE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL.
    Rev 19:17-AND I (John) SAW AN ANGEL STANDING IN THE SUN; AND HE CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE, SAYING TO ALL THE FOWLS (or birds) THAT FLY IN THE MIDST OF HEAVEN (or midair), COME AND GATHER YOURSELVES TOGETHER UNTO THE SUPPER (or feast) OF THE GREAT GOD. The angel shall summon the birds of the air. The armies that are gathered in Israel will be slaughtered as grapes in a winepress; the birds shall feast upon their dead bodies.
    It is also written, Jn 1:51-AND HE (Jesus) SAITH UNTO HIM, VERILY, VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, HEREAFTER YE SHALL SEE HEAVEN OPEN.

7-JESUS COMES IN THE CLOUDS WITH POWER AND GLORY

    Lk 9:26-WHEN HE SHALL COME IN HIS OWN GLORY, AND IN HIS FATHER'S, AND OF THE HOLY ANGELS.
    Lk 21:27-AND THEN SHALL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY.
    Mk 13:26-AND THEN SHALL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN THE CLOUDS WITH GREAT POWER AND GLORY.
    Mt 26:64-JESUS SAITH UNTO HIM, THOU HAST SAID: NEVERTHELESS I SAY UNTO YOU, HEREAFTER SHALL YE SEE THE SON
    OF    Mk 14:62-AND JESUS SAID, I AM: AND YE SHALL SEE THE SON OF MAN SITTING ON THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER, AND COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.
    1 Pe 4:13-BUT REJOICE, INASMUCH AS YE ARE PARTAKERS OF CHRIST'S SUFFERINGS; THAT, WHEN HIS GLORY SHALL BE
 REVEALED, YE MAY BE GLAD ALSO WITH EXCEEDING JOY.

8-JESUS COMES WITH FIRE

    Isa 66:15-FOR, BEHOLD, THE LORD WILL COME WITH FIRE, AND WITH HIS CHARIOTS LIKE A WHIRLWIND, TO RENDER HIS ANGER WITH FURY, AND HIS REBUKE WITH FLAMES OF FIRE.

9-JESUS COMES WITH LIGHTNINGS

     Mt 24:27-FOR AS THE LIGHTNING COMETH OUT OF THE EAST, AND SHINETH EVEN UNTO THE WEST; SO SHALL ALSO THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN BE.
    Lk 17:24-FOR AS THE LIGHTNING, THAT LIGHTENETH OUT OF THE ONE PART UNDER HEAVEN, SHINETH UNTO THE OTHER PART UNDER HEAVEN; SO SHALL ALSO THE SON OF MAN BE IN HIS DAY.
    Ps 97:4-HIS LIGHTNINGS ENLIGHTENED THE WORLD: THE EARTH SAW, AND TREMBLED.

10-EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM

    Rev 1:7-BEHOLD, HE COMETH WITH CLOUDS; AND EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, AND THEY ALSO WHICH PIERCED HIM: AND ALL KINDREDS OF THE EARTH SHALL WAIL BECAUSE OF HIM.
    Lk 3:6-AND ALL FLESH SHALL SEE THE SALVATION OF GOD.

11-JESUS’ FEET SHALL STAND ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES

    Zech 14:4-AND HIS FEET SHALL STAND IN THAT DAY UPON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, WHICH IS BEFORE JERUSALEM ON THE EAST, AND THE MOUNT OF OLIVES SHALL CLEAVE IN THE MIDST THEREOF TOWARD THE EAST AND TOWARD THE WEST, AND THERE SHALL BE A VERY GREAT VALLEY; AND HALF OF THE MOUNTAIN SHALL REMOVE TOWARD THE NORTH, AND HALF OF IT TOWARD THE SOUTH.
    Scripture tells us, in Job 19:25-FOR I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH, AND THAT HE SHALL STAND AT THE LATTER DAY UPON THE EARTH.

12-WHO SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND?

    Mal 3:2-BUT WHO MAY ABIDE THE DAY OF HIS COMING? AND WHO SHALL STAND WHEN HE APPEARETH? FOR HE IS LIKE A REFINER'S FIRE, AND LIKE FULLERS' SOAP.

13-THE SAINTS RETURN WITH JESUS

    All the saints will come back with Jesus when He returns to the earth. They will be clothed in fine linen, white and clean, and will follow Jesus riding upon white horses. All will have their new bodies of flesh and bone.
    It is written, Rev 19:14-AND THE ARMIES WHICH WERE IN HEAVEN FOLLOWED HIM UPON WHITE HORSES, CLOTHED IN FINE LINEN, WHITE AND CLEAN.
    Zech 14:5-AND THE LORD MY GOD SHALL COME, AND ALL THE SAINTS WITH THEE.
    Jude 14-AND ENOCH ALSO, THE SEVENTH FROM ADAM, PROPHESIED OF THESE, SAYING, BEHOLD, THE LORD COMETH WITH TEN THOUSANDS OF HIS SAINTS. Jesus coming with the saints was prophesied even before the flood.
    2 Thes 1:7-THE LORD JESUS SHALL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN WITH HIS MIGHTY ANGELS. In the other verses, the word "saints" is used. Here the word "angels" is used. It has been noted in the Revelation that the saints were referred to, in some instances, as angels.
    1 Thes 3:13-AT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL HIS SAINTS.
    Col 3:4-WHEN CHRIST, WHO IS OUR LIFE, SHALL APPEAR, THEN SHALL YE ALSO APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY.

14-THEY SHALL LOOK UPON JESUS WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED

    Zech 12:10,11-AND I WILL POUR UPON THE HOUSE OF DAVID, AND UPON THE INHABITANTS OF JERUSALEM, THE SPIRIT OF GRACE AND OF SUPPLICATIONS: AND THEY SHALL LOOK UPON ME WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED, AND THEY SHALL MOURN FOR HIM, AS ONE MOURNETH FOR HIS ONLY SON, AND SHALL BE IN BITTERNESS FOR HIM, AS ONE THAT IS IN BITTERNESS FOR HIS FIRSTBORN. IN THAT DAY SHALL THERE BE A GREAT MOURNING IN JERUSALEM, AS THE MOURNING OF HADADRIMMON IN THE VALLEY OF MEGIDDON.

15-THE MYSTERY OF GOD SHOULD BE FINISHED:

    Rev 10:7-BUT IN THE DAYS OF THE VOICE OF THE SEVENTH ANGEL (or when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet-NIV, or shofar), WHEN HE SHALL BEGIN TO SOUND, THE MYSTERY (or hidden plan) OF GOD SHOULD BE FINISHED (or accomplished, or brought to completion) AS HE HATH DECLARED (or announced) TO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS. In this verse are words, such as, "When the seventh angel is about to sound." In Rev 11:15, note the words, "The seventh angel sounded." This seems to be saying, when the angel is just about to sound the trumpet, at that exact instant, the hidden plan of God will be brought to completion. This occurs immediately after the Tribulation. The seventh trumpet actually sounding is in Rev 11:15. The mystery of God is finished when Jesus returns; as it is written, FOR NOW WE SEE THROUGH A GLASS, DARKLY; BUT THEN FACE TO FACE: NOW I KNOW IN PART; BUT THEN SHALL I KNOW EVEN AS ALSO I AM KNOWN-1 Cor 13:12. From the time that the seventh trumpet begins to sound, in Rev 10:7, to the time it does sound, in Rev 11:15, is a very short period.

16, 17-THE SEVENTH TRUMPET—THE WRATH OF JESUS HAS COME

    Rev 11:15-AND THE SEVENTH ANGEL SOUNDED (his shofar or trumpet).
    Rev 11:18-AND THE NATIONS (or Goyim) WERE ANGRY (or raged), AND THY WRATH (or rage) IS COME. The nations of the world now understand (perhaps, as a result of the two prophet’s testimony, death, and resurrection) that their time is now up. Their disobedience, rebellion, blasphemy, and contempt against God is now at an end. They are enraged. It is written, THE HEATHEN RAGED, THE KINGDOMS WERE MOVED: HE UTTERED HIS VOICE, THE EARTH MELTED-Ps 46:6. Jesus is enraged or wroth; as it is written, I HAVE LONG TIME HOLDEN MY PEACE; I HAVE BEEN STILL, AND REFRAINED MYSELF: NOW WILL I CRY LIKE A TRAVAILING WOMAN; I WILL DESTROY AND DEVOUR AT ONCE-Isa 42:14.
    Rev 11:18 continues, AND THE TIME OF THE DEAD, THAT THEY SHOULD BE JUDGED. Some consider that this is referring to the great white throne judgment, which will not take place for about another thousand years. Others consider it may be referring to the judgment of the nations, which occurs right after Armageddon. The verse continues, AND THAT THOU SHOULDEST GIVE REWARD UNTO THY SERVANTS THE PROPHETS, AND TO THE SAINTS (or holy people), AND THEM THAT FEAR THY NAME, (both) SMALL AND GREAT. The saints return with Jesus-ref Zech 14:5. Rewards will be given at that time. This is further confirmed in Mt 16:27. Some rewards will include the position of authority each person will have.
    The verse continues, AND SHOULDEST DESTROY THEM WHICH DESTROY THE EARTH (it is also the time for destroying those who destroy the earth-JNT111).

18-THE TEMPLE OF GOD OPENS

    Rev 11:19-AND THE TEMPLE OF GOD WAS OPENED IN HEAVEN, AND THERE WAS SEEN (or appeared) IN HIS TEMPLE THE ARK OF HIS TESTAMENT (or covenant). The covenant God has with Israel may be seen here as Jesus is about to return. This is God’s promise to Israel. He is keeping His Word.

19-LIGHTNINGS, VOICES, THUNDERINGS, AN EARTHQUAKE, AND GREAT HAIL

    Rev 11:19-AND THERE WERE LIGHTNINGS, AND VOICES (or rumblings), AND THUNDERINGS, AND AN EARTHQUAKE, AND GREAT (or violent) HAIL (or a great hailstorm).
    Lightnings may be referring to the second coming of Jesus. It is written, Mt 24:27-FOR AS THE LIGHTNING COMETH OUT OF THE EAST, AND SHINETH EVEN UNTO THE WEST; SO SHALL ALSO THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN BE. Lightnings are mentioned in Rev 4:5; 8:5,13; 10:3,4; 11:15,19; and 16:18.
    Voices may be referring to the voices in heaven and the things which they are saying. Voices are mentioned in Rev 4:5; 8:5,13; 10:3,4; 11:15,19; and 16:18.
    Thunderings could have some connection with the seven thunders or some other judgments. Thunders or thunderings are mentioned in Rev 4:5; 8:5; 10:3,4; 11:19; 16:18; and 19:6.
    Earthquake appears singular here. This may be one of several that happen around the time of Armageddon, as many are listed. Earthquakes are mentioned in Rev 6:12; 8:5; 11:13,19; and 16:18. The earthquake, in Rev 16:18, is worse than any since man has been on the earth.
    Hail is mentioned in Rev 8:7; 11:19; and 16:21. The hailstones, of Rev 16:21, weigh about 100 pounds each.

    Rev 8:5-AND THE ANGEL TOOK THE CENSER (or incense-bowl), AND FILLED IT WITH FIRE OF (or from) THE ALTAR, AND CAST (or hurled) IT (down) INTO (or on) THE EARTH: AND THERE WERE (or came) VOICES (or rumblings), AND THUNDERINGS, AND LIGHTNINGS, AND AN EARTHQUAKE.
    Rev 8:7-THE FIRST ANGEL SOUNDED (his shofar or trumpet), AND THERE FOLLOWED (or came) HAIL AND FIRE MINGLED (or mixed) WITH BLOOD, AND THEY WERE CAST (or hurled down) UPON THE EARTH: (and a third of the earth was burned up-NASB) AND THE THIRD PART OF TREES WAS BURNT UP, AND ALL GREEN GRASS WAS BURNT UP.
    Rev 10:3-AND CRIED (or shouted) WITH A LOUD VOICE, AS (loud as) WHEN A LION ROARETH: AND WHEN HE HAD CRIED (or shouted), SEVEN THUNDERS UTTERED (or sounded with) THEIR VOICES.
    Rev 10:4-AND WHEN THE SEVEN THUNDERS HAD UTTERED THEIR VOICES (or spoke), I WAS ABOUT TO WRITE: AND I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN SAYING UNTO ME, SEAL UP THOSE THINGS WHICH THE SEVEN THUNDERS UTTERED (or said), AND WRITE THEM NOT.
    Rev 11:13-AND THE (very) SAME HOUR WAS THERE A GREAT EARTHQUAKE, AND THE TENTH PART OF THE CITY FELL (or collapsed), AND IN THE EARTHQUAKE WERE SLAIN (or killed) OF MEN SEVEN THOUSAND: AND THE REMNANT WERE AFFRIGHTED (or terrified), AND GAVE GLORY TO THE GOD OF HEAVEN.
    Rev 11:15-AND THE SEVENTH ANGEL SOUNDED (his shofar or trumpet); AND THERE WERE GREAT (or loud) VOICES IN HEAVEN, SAYING, THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD ARE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD, AND OF HIS CHRIST (or Messiah); AND HE SHALL REIGN (or rule) FOR EVER AND EVER.
    Rev 11:19-AND THE TEMPLE OF GOD WAS OPENED IN HEAVEN, AND THERE WAS SEEN IN HIS TEMPLE THE ARK OF HIS TESTAMENT: AND THERE WERE LIGHTNINGS, AND VOICES, AND THUNDERINGS, AND AN EARTHQUAKE, AND GREAT HAIL.

    Rev 16:21-AND THERE FELL UPON MEN A GREAT HAIL (or huge hailstones) OUT OF HEAVEN (or the sky), EVERY STONE ABOUT THE WEIGHT OF A TALENT (or seventy, or a hundred pounds each): AND MEN BLASPHEMED (or cursed) GOD BECAUSE OF THE PLAGUE OF THE HAIL; FOR (or because) THE PLAGUE THEREOF WAS EXCEEDING GREAT (or terrible).
    Rev 19:6-AND I HEARD AS IT WERE THE VOICE OF A GREAT MULTITUDE (or huge crowd), AND AS THE VOICE (or sound) OF MANY (rushing) WATERS, AND AS THE VOICE (or peals) OF MIGHTY THUNDERINGS, SAYING (or shouting), ALLELUIA: FOR THE LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT (or Almighty) REIGNETH (Adonai, God of heaven's armies, has begun His reign!-JNT112).

20-THE KINGS OF THE EARTH AND THE ANTICHRIST ARE GATHERED TO MAKE WAR AGAINST JESUS

    Rev 19:19-AND I SAW THE BEAST (which is the Antichrist), AND THE KINGS OF THE EARTH, AND THEIR ARMIES, GATHERED TOGETHER TO MAKE WAR (or do battle) AGAINST HIM (Jesus) THAT SAT ON THE HORSE, AND AGAINST HIS ARMY. These are the saints that follow Jesus. It appears that the armies of the world were somehow deceived and came to Israel under false pretenses. Now their real purpose for being there is revealed. The spirit of Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet have coerced them to gather in Israel for the primary purpose of making war against Jesus. This is the Battle of Armageddon.
    It is written, Rev 17:14-THESE SHALL MAKE WAR WITH THE LAMB, AND THE LAMB SHALL OVERCOME THEM.

21-HE GATHERED THEM TO A PLACE CALLED ARMAGEDDON: THE BATTLE IS AT HAND

    Rev 16:13-AND I SAW THREE UNCLEAN SPIRITS (that looked) LIKE FROGS COME OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE DRAGON (which is Satan), AND OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE BEAST (which is the Antichrist), AND OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE FALSE PROPHET.
    Rev 16:14-FOR THEY ARE THE SPIRITS OF DEVILS (or demonic spirits), WORKING (or performing) MIRACLES (or miraculous signs), WHICH GO FORTH UNTO THE KINGS OF THE EARTH AND OF THE WHOLE (inhabited) WORLD, TO GATHER (or assemble) THEM TO THE BATTLE OF THAT (war of the) GREAT DAY OF GOD ALMIGHTY.

    Rev 16:15-BEHOLD (or look), I (Jesus) COME AS A THIEF. Jesus comes as a thief to those that are not blessed, the unrepentant, even those that are naked, which do not have on the clothing of righteousness through Jesus Christ. The announcement of "Jesus coming as a thief," is a message to them.
    However, the next message is to the saints that have survived the Tribulation. BLESSED IS HE THAT WATCHETH (or stays awake, or alert). Those that repent during the Tribulation will be able to watch and understand the time that Jesus will return, as they compare the Scriptures with the events that are happening and count 42 months from the abomination of desolation. As they go through this horrible period, those that survive should be able to understand through God’s Word what events are still ahead.
    BLESSED IS HE THAT…KEEPETH HIS GARMENTS (clean or keeps his clothes with him-NIV), LEST HE WALK NAKED, AND THEY SEE HIS SHAME (or be shamefully exposed, or publicly put to shame!). Armageddon is at hand. The return of Jesus is at hand. The person that is watching for Jesus' return, who does not turn from following Jesus, who does not turn back to sin, but remains faithful (even to the point of being killed)—this person is blessed. By doing these things, he is keeping his clothes. His clothing is Jesus. Should he turn from Jesus, then he is no longer clothed with righteousness. If a person is no longer clothed with the righteousness of Jesus, then he is naked; others can see his shame, as he is exposed.

    Rev 16:16-AND HE (or they) GATHERED THEM (the kings) TOGETHER INTO A PLACE CALLED IN THE HEBREW TONGUE ARMAGEDDON (or "hill of Megiddo"). The kings and armies of the world are gathered together at this place. It is written, THEREFORE WAIT YE UPON ME, SAITH THE LORD, UNTIL THE DAY THAT I RISE UP TO THE PREY: FOR MY DETERMINATION IS TO GATHER THE NATIONS, THAT I MAY ASSEMBLE THE KINGDOMS, TO POUR UPON THEM MINE INDIGNATION, EVEN ALL MY FIERCE ANGER: FOR ALL THE EARTH SHALL BE DEVOURED WITH THE FIRE OF MY JEALOUSY-Zeph 3:8.
    Megiddo, today, is a large hill or mound of ruins from ancient times (also called a "tel"). It sits on the edge of a vast plain, known as Esdraelon or Jezreel Valley. Here, in this fertile farmland of northern Israel and extending through the Jordan Valley, the great armies of the world are expected to assemble for war. This area covers nearly 200 miles in length-ref Rev 14:20. 

22-THE LAND IS FULL OF SILVER, GOLD, AND IDOLS

    Isa 2:7-9-THEIR LAND ALSO IS FULL OF SILVER AND GOLD, NEITHER IS THERE ANY END OF THEIR TREASURES; THEIR LAND IS ALSO FULL OF HORSES, NEITHER IS THERE ANY END OF THEIR CHARIOTS: THEIR LAND ALSO IS FULL OF IDOLS; THEY WORSHIP THE WORK OF THEIR OWN HANDS, THAT WHICH THEIR OWN FINGERS HAVE MADE: AND (or so) THE MEAN (or common) MAN BOWETH DOWN, AND THE GREAT MAN (or man of importance) HUMBLETH HIMSELF: THEREFORE FORGIVE THEM NOT (or do not forgive them-NIV).

23-IT IS DONE: THE SEVENTH VIAL

    Rev 16:17-AND THE SEVENTH ANGEL POURED OUT HIS VIAL (or bowl) INTO THE AIR; AND THERE CAME A GREAT (or loud) VOICE OUT OF THE TEMPLE OF HEAVEN, FROM THE THRONE, SAYING, IT IS DONE. The seventh and final vial is poured out into the air. An announcement is made, with a loud voice, from the temple in heaven. That voice says, "IT IS DONE."

24-THE DAY OF THE LORD IS A DAY OF DARKNESS

    Joel 2:1,2-THE DAY OF THE LORD…A DAY OF DARKNESS AND OF GLOOMINESS, A DAY OF CLOUDS AND OF THICK DARKNESS.
    Zeph 1:14,15-THE DAY OF THE LORD…A DAY OF DARKNESS AND GLOOMINESS, A DAY OF CLOUDS AND THICK DARKNESS.
    Isa 60:2-FOR, BEHOLD, THE DARKNESS SHALL COVER THE EARTH, AND GROSS DARKNESS THE PEOPLE.

25-TO THOSE THAT ARE TROUBLED

    2 Thes 1:7-AND TO YOU WHO ARE TROUBLED REST WITH US, WHEN THE LORD JESUS SHALL BE REVEALED FROM HEAVEN WITH HIS MIGHTY ANGELS.

26-THE JUDGMENT OF ISRAEL AT HIS COMING (JIAHC)

(Commentary)

    IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION...THEN SHALL APPEAR THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN IN HEAVEN: AND THEN SHALL ALL THE TRIBES OF THE EARTH MOURN, AND THEY SHALL SEE THE SON OF MAN (Jesus) COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY-Mt 24:29,30.
    Israel shall be judged at the coming of Jesus. In the judgment of Israel during the Tribulation, two parts are cut off and die, BUT THE THIRD SHALL BE LEFT THEREIN-Zech 13:8. For Jesus shall destroy the sinners out of the land. Those that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
    Jesus shall come unto them that turn from their transgressions. Upon the house of David and Jerusalem, the Lord will pour out the Spirit of grace; as it is written, SO ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED-Ro 11:26 (all that are left alive). This is the judgment of Israel at the coming of Jesus. Then Jesus will reign and rule the entire earth from Jerusalem for one thousand years.

28-SEVENTY WEEKS ARE DETERMINED

    One of the things included in the last week is to bring in everlasting righteousness.
    It is written, Dan 9:24-SEVENTY WEEKS ARE DETERMINED…AND TO BRING IN EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS.
